The basic common rules are:

1.      2-4 players play the Rummy games.

2.      Each player is dealt a set number of cards. A turn begins by drawing a card from either the stock or discards pile and must end by discarding a card onto the discard pile.

3.      The objective of the games is to be the first to dispose of all the cards from the player hand, by melding them all and laying them down on the table.

4.      The winner of a single ring game is the first player to dispose of all his cards. The winner will gain an amount of score points while other players will be charged with penalties.

5.      There are two types of melds:

·        A set consists of 3 or more cards of the same rank:

 A single table Rummy tournament

A single table Rummy tournament is a tournament that takes place among players seated next to a single table.
There are 2 types of single table tournaments:

Elimination - The tournament includes a single Rummy table (Gin, Kaluki or Rummy). Each table is occupied by up to 4 players. A certain amount of accumulated penalty points is predetermined. Players who accumulate this amount of penalty points are eliminated from the tournament. After the last round is over, the last player to stay in a 2-player tournament takes the whole pot. In a 3-4-player tournament the last two players split the pool prize: 1st place takes 85% and the 2nd place takes the remaining 15% of the pool prize funds.

Multi-Round - The tournament includes a single Rummy table (Gin, Kaluki or Rummy). Each table is occupied by up to 4 players. The tournament's number of rounds is predetermined. After the last round is over, the player to accumulate the highest amount of points in a 2-player tournament takes the whole pot. In a 3-4-player tournament the two players to accumulate the highest amount of points split the pool prize: 1st place takes 85% and the 2nd place takes the remaining 15% of the pool prize funds.

Multi-table Rummy tournament

A multi-table Rummy tournament is a tournament that takes place among players seated next to a number of different tables. The multi-player Rummy tournament RummyRoyal is currently offering is based on the elimination principle.

The tournament includes a number of Rummy tables of the same game type. Each table is occupied by up to 4 players. A certain amount of allowed accumulated penalty points is predetermined. Players who accumulate this amount of penalty points or more are eliminated form the tournament.

 

During the tournament, when players are being eliminated, the number of active tables is reduced, and players from different tables are gathered in less and less tables, while tables left unoccupied is eliminated. These players will join other players in other occupied tables containing available seats. They will continue to play against each other under the same conditions. The last player to stay in a 2-player tournament takes the whole pot. In a 3-4 player tournament the last two players split the pool prize: 1st place takes 85% and the 2nd place takes the remaining 15% of the pool prize funds.
